These are AIFC files similar to AIFF files

AIFF / AIFC - Audio Interchange File Format
and Compressed AIFF files: These files
started mostly on the Macintosh and Silicon
Graphics platform. The AIFC is a compressed
version of the AIFF. Most sound applications
on the Mac will play them and the SGI sound
editing utilities will also record and play them.
