A fair and reasonable point. I'm not altogether sold on your assertion re DV versus
Beta SP; but the point is; because of the fragmentation of the term DV as professional
quality and DV as consumer product, I felt, and still feel, clarifying the understanding
of what's being offered is warranted. If I pay a $100 and get a video of Jeff Goldblum
sped and then slowed down, I'm going to be disappointed. So will you.

  I'd have to disagree with you on this point. Digital Video is now used by   more professionals than Beta SP (Beta is still the choice for broadcast news,
  but that is a Union thing...). A quality DV camera can cost as much as
$25,000 or more, not quite the realm of kids and their iMac. Even a low
end
$1000 DV camera may be better than broadcast quality Beta tape.
