Cat Stevens did issue a statement saying he condemned the violence of Sept 11 if I remember correctly but he was also the guy who fully endorsed the fatwa against Salman Rushdie. A few days after that hit the news a local Vancouver band called No Fun did a cover of Moonshadow but changed the lyrics to "I'm being followed by an armed Muslim..." That still makes me laugh.
The problem with sites like whatreallyhappened.com is, like most conspiracy theorists, it comes across as some breathless knob desperately looking for an audience pushing his spectacles further up his nose while stuttering "And another thing, corn isn't really yellow, the CIA changed it so aliens would.....blah blah blah"
However, you simply cannot expect to have one of your top statesmen claim it was worth killing 500 000 Iraqi children in the pursuit of Saddam Hussein during Desert Storm and not expect that some of those affected by such a massacre will not dedicate their life to revenge. http://home.att.net/~drew.hamre/docAlb.htm
Of course flying planes into buildings is an atrocity. Of course, people need to be held accountable, but there needs to be some attempt to understand why this is happening instead of describing those responsbility as pychotic mad men and dismissing those who try to look for such answers as anti American. I don't consider myself anti-American at all. I don't feel anti-Canadian for pointing out the way that our government handled protesters at recents meetings like APEC was a disgrace and affront to values that most Canadian cherish.
The States have done tremendous good in the world and have been a shining light in so many areas of human endeavour. But Laos, Cambodia, Chile, Panama, Somalia, Sudan and Iraq were not conspiracy theories. They happened and they left a lot of dead bodies in their wake. Eventually you piss off a group with the resources and will to do what happened on Sept 11.
Sorry, I know this is not what some people want to see on this list but I've enjoyed the comments since Pat posted his link and wanted to add my two bits worth.

Could someone point out to me the humor behind the deaths of 6000 people by being burned and buried alive? Cause I too would like to have a fine sense of humor and have a jolly good larf over this raucous affair. And perhaps someone could explain the connection, absent of paranoid schizophrenia, of Bush to these atrocities, because we Americans are all so ill-informed on these affairs? And I note, in passing, the absence of Cat Stevens in any of the charity tribute concerts. Wonder what ever happened to that bloke.?
